Great TED talk by Wayne McGregor where you see him shaping a dance (inspired by the physical letters of T, E, D) in real time.

It’s especially interesting as I’ve been thinking about the nature of creation, and how “copying” relates to (or feeds?) the creative process. (Read this Brainpicking article for more.) That’s a side discussion however.

Side effects may include: grinning til it hurts, joyous tears and a happy swelling heart… Or just joy. Which totally works too.

The most impressive thing about this particular flashmob? No instruments were used. The “human orchestra” mimics the sound of trumpets, violins, and drums, among other instruments.

The crowd, made up of more than 500 actors, dressed up as taxi drivers, cabin crew, baggage handlers, and members of the public. They burst into dance sequences throughout the day as an estimated 80,000 people passed through Terminal 5 on arrival.

This guy made a timelapse video of a gorgeous sunset entirely on his iPhone!

What struck me most was the contrast of the slowly morphing clouds versus the frenzy of the frantic humans.

A commenter noted that “the seagulls create a sort of ‘old film filter’ effect” which I find to be a thoroughly spiffy observation.
